I had a 68 or 69 Red Dale of similar electrical design. It had no real place for a battery and no converter or battery charger of any type.
Other than a light and an air pump for the water tank, there wasn't any loads like we'd have today. Most of the lighting was supplied by a permanent propane lamp on the wall.
If you wan't more, you'll want to install a converter, outlets, lights and any other modern conveniences. As for a battery location, I mounted a second, isolated battery on the truck itself. If you wan't an on-board battery, you may want to check into an AGM type so venting is easier.
And you may wan't to revamp the water system while you're in there.
