1988 coachmen truck camper

I can't imagine it's much less than 3,000 pounds dry weight. Might be as low as 2,500 depending on a lot of factors.
Personally, I wouldn't be interested in any camper that old regardless of the price. Unless it's been garage kept it's entire life there is likely a lot of rot hiding everywhere. The odds that it's been carefully maintained and had all the seams kept totally watertight for over 30 years are slim to none.
I looked those campers up on NADA for you. They list for about $1,000 average retail.

Based on your complete inspection and running every system? How many RVs have you inspected prior to purchase? At thirty years old I wouldn’t even go look at it.

You'll find thousands of opinions on this forum. So, you'll have to use your own judgement.

Take a look at the camper and make sure it doesn't look too ruff for you. I can do all my own repairs so the last 2 that I bought needed work and I picked them up very reasonable. Once you use it a bit you'll know what you like and dislike.

Campers that age had metal roofs so they did require as much maintenance as rubber roofs when left in the weather. Which isn't to say they couldn't have problems. You'll need to take your best guess based on your ability.

If you like what you see, a camper that age shouldn't be too big of an investment. If the appliances all work, they would probably cost you about the value of the camper if you could find them used.

If it is truly in good shape then the better for you. If not you might enjoy Kxracer704's posts.

As for weight I don't have the slightest guess. I had a Palomino that was very light and now have an Arctic Fox that is quite heavy. I liked both for different reasons. Our first camper was an '84 Coachmen. It was a well made camper and we liked it also.

Hi Glen, I had a coachmen Ranger for years and loved it. It was a huge leaker everywhere but as stated above I do all my own work so no big deal. I had it before I bought my 1181 Lance and I never missed it. Sold it to a trucker that was looking to retire and do part time limited hauling. I don't know how he would have done it with the truck camper on but he paid me and left with it.

I drove over 200 miles to get my 1990(Lance 9.6) barn find..It has never leaked to date and I have had it on some really rough roads..My lance 9.6 weighs 2679 pounds and it is fully self contained,some of the older models are not fully self contained,only partial.

Truck campers are totally over price these days so it will depend on the seller,if he is old school,you can get a reasonable deal,if he is the new breed,expect him to call it a classic and charge accordingly..

My last lance 8.6(1992) pictured below,cost me $2500 cash,as an example,fully self contained..

Looking at craigslist, is it the camper/truck from Redwood City?
If it is, he states the camper has had some leaks.
