Both the Mid 90's Chevy C6P 3/4 tons we had for work trucks had semi-floaters for rear axles. One was a 1995, the other was a 1999. Both were the HD 8600 GVWR C6P 3/4 ton, and had the 350 engine. The ones we had with 454's all had the full floater.
Maybe the full floater was an option with the 5.7?
