After renting we bought as three year old Dutchmen Lite TT. 25ft, 5000 lbs dry weight. 406 lbs on the tongue according to the factory figures.
Now for the real world numbers. Across the CAT scales and loaded for the road the TT weighs 6400 lbs and puts 700 lbs on the tongue.
My F-150 4x4 with E-boost has a towing capacity of 9500 lbs but only 1411 lbs of cargo capacity. So with 700 lbs on the tongue, two adults and a dog, a truck cap, tools and camp gear in the truck bed; we are at or near the truck's cargo limit.
All that said we have towed over 23,000 miles in the last 2 1/2 years with no problems.
You cannot beat the convenience of a TT and it's creature comforts but we definitely noticed the loss of the feel of camping compared to a canoe and tent.
