GVWR is 11,000 lbs. Curb weight is about 7,000 lbs. So, is it OK to go over the pay load by about 500 pounds?
In the truck camper world it is difficult to NOT exceed the GVWR and get the camper that you want.
Whether it is OK or not is a question only you can answer for yourself. Some people will say it is not OK, but then they end up with a much smaller camper than they were hoping for just to stay under GVWR.
Often we just go by individual axle ratings, which typically gains 1500-2000lbs on a SRW, and 2000-3000lbs payload on a dually. See for yourself. Empty the truck and head to the scales. Weigh front and rear axles separately. Look at your tire and loading information sticker to find your RAWR. You should have 5000lbs+ of payload capacity on the rear axle, which is where 99% of the camper's weight ends up. - ssthrdExplorer

There are few slide in campers on the road that are under the payload number of the truck carrying them. My first two were over by something around 500 lbs, so I added an extra rear leaf and air bags to keep things level. Looking back, I should have checked the load capacity of the tires too. - neilrvnetExplorerGVWR is 11,000 lbs. Curb weight is about 7,000 lbs. - jimh406Explorer IIITruck Camper Magazine didn't even exist in 1999 or 2000. That would be the last place to look for information about older models.
The Bigfoot owners here are a much better choice for the info. - SoonDockinExplorer IIIt may work on your 1999 pickup. Not sure when the taller cab to bed distance increased.

Derp?? Per Webster Dictionary,
Derp:
“Used as a substitute for speech regarded as meaningless or stupid, or to comment on a foolish or stupid action:”
Congrats, on your excursion into wokeness - very telling… - Grit_dogNavigator

Derp.... - ssthrdExplorerThanks enblethen......
My last 3 slide in campers also needed a small lift to clear the top of the cab. - deserteagle56Explorer IIIt should fit...but with my Bigfoot I had to put a 3-1/2" platform in the bed of the truck to raise the camper enough so the cabover part wouldn't hit the cab of the truck.
