I bought a 2002 F 350 new just like that one except mine was a 4x4. Great truck with only regular maintenance required. I did have to replace the cam pos. sensor once and ball joints and that was it. Ford did the C.P.S. under warranty and I did the ball joints. The truck was never again in the shop for any kind of repair. The 2002 7.3 Ford trucks are bullet proof as long as you do your part....good quality oil and filters on a regular basis !! Now, as much as I like the 7.3 it won't hold a candle to this 6.7 Powerstroke I have today....a lot more power and a lot better MPG and after 3 years of owning it not a single problem with it. Never thought I would like a truck as much as the old 7.3 but to be honest since the 6.7 I forgot all about the 7.3. I think the price is a little high being a 2x2 but I am sure it won't last long .
As much as the new Fords have much better power and drivability they certainly don't have the track record that the 7.3L has. For the cost of a CP4 failure on the Ford 6.7L, a new 7.3L engine can be had. There is a reason why prices on good 7.3L trucks is still high! ;)
