2003 Outfitter Apex 9.5 Value

Outfitter owners, what are your rough estimates on the value of a 2003 Outfitter Apex 9.5, this is the version with the north/south queen cab over bed, has awnings on both sides and the back, generator, solar system, happy jack turn buckles included and all the standard features. The camper is in excellent shape, no known issues...... just looking for opinions on approximate value, I have seen 2006 9.5 's going for $17,000.
  • Thanks for the replys, the magic number the owner is asking is $3500.

I went to purchase it today and it wouldn't load in my 2008 Silverado 2500 hd due to the rather large radius and narrowness on the bottom of the tail gate openings. About an Inch to wide, the current owners truck is a 2006 Silverado and the bottom corners have no radiuses they are squared off and the opening is large enough to clear. Even raising the camper up with 4x4's under it did not help.

The camper is in very good shape considering 10 years old and its pretty much loaded and its up for grabs in Sylvania Ohio if anyone is interested.

  • ....for what it's worth: we've been offered up to $15.5k for our 2005.5 Caribou 8 (no furnace, no air conditioner, no bathroom) cash here in the "Far East"; just a split-hair less than we paid for it (8 years ago!). But we are NOT planning on selling it (as I sit here in the torrential/pouring rain in the Caribou 8 (soon to turn to snow!) as dry as a scorpion in the Atacama desert, planning a trail construction crew Op. on a rain-drenched mountain-side).

I would hazard a guess at about $17k, perhaps $16k at the lower end.

If the right party sees it (in the East for example), they will pay a premium just because they won't need to spend many $ thousands going out West to cut a factory deal, then to pick it up at delivery (2 trips) !

  • Testudo is right; If you can get the serial number from the present owner call Bob at Outfitter and ask about which options were included with that camper. My serial number is located on the back outside wall. This will help you put a value on the camper. Ask Bob what he thinks it is worth...

    Good luck :B
  • They were not in the bluebook last time I looked. Makes them hard to value.

  • I'm buying from a private seller, price seems very very good but I just wanted opinions before I say how much.

  • Priceless...

Are you thinking about selling it to OUTFITTER or to a third-party? If you are planning on selling it to a third-party, I would contact Bob or Brian at OUTFITTER and let them opine on it.
