Sorry it wasn't what you wanted but at least you found out BEFORE you purchased it! Plus it is always important for the sake of domestic peace and tranquility to keep the wife happy!
If you are looking at gas SUV's don't rule out the Suburban 2500's. I towed my TT with both a V10 Excursion and Suburban's 2500 and they are both reliable and capable vehicles. I put about 10K towing miles on my V10 Excursion going from IL to FL to IL a few times during late night winter storms and through the mountains with 5 aboard and it never let me down. Like another had said though be prepared to pay for non engine parts that fail with time or wear. Good Luck and keep us posted (what did the techs find on the 6.0L?)
