- Jerrybo66ExplorerThis is interesting.. My F-350 crew cab Diesel long bed camper covered has about 82,000 miles. It will be for sale when I'm on the underside of the grass. But I have been wondering of the salability of the truck when I no longer need it. It seems as though, even though old, is a reliable and popular tow machine. Thanks for the memory..

Diesel excursions are very rare, thus the price
Not really, not around here.
It's worth about 21, maybe 22 maximum.
I have a '97 F350 4 door diesel 4wd in pristine condition and I've been offered 20 cash. Not for sale at any price.
I'd want to see all the service records right away and make sure all the recalls were done and only then would I consider 21 or 22.
Of course $32k is a bit high, but, look, just on this forum, every "how do I haul a gaggle of kids and tow a big travel trailer". The answer always ends up, "find a 7.3 Excursion if you can....."
Totally different than your, actually dime a dozen, OBS powerstroke.
Either you're talking out your arse, or if there is some how a magic stash of clean rust free low mile 7.3 excursions in your back yard, I'm headed back to WI in a couple weeks. I'll buy a gn car hauler and come pick up 2 of em for $21k a piece and make 10 grand a piece the minute I unload them here in WA.
Do I think $30k is high for a 15 year old SUV? Sure, but supply and demand. Supply is zero and has been for a while.
My neighbor just bought a gasser Excursion. 120k, clean, nice wheels, nothing special, for like $23k! For a gasser! But if you have 5 kids and a camper, it's about the only vehicle that will do the job.
That beautiful 7.3L Excursion would sell for huge $ here in BC too, as do 7.3L Super Duties that are in that kind of condition. Most of the OBS trucks here are high mileage beaters unfortunately. - Grit_dogNavigator

They will have no problem selling that Excursion. What a jewel.
I the DW wouldn't mind driving a large vehicle this would be in the garage. A Super Duty conversion. :B
This is why someone can get 30 for it. This conversion or a Duraburb will set you back 100grand. 30 is cheap. - Grit_dogNavigator

Plus mine has the DVD player..
- blofgrenExplorerWow, what a beautiful beast! :C
- dodge_guyExplorer IIThis is good to know. It makes my 02 V-10 XLT premium with 95k miles worth that much more.

Nope. The 7.3 never made it to 325 HP in factory form. Or 550 for that matter.
Looks like this one is 250/505.
PowerStroke Ratings
I'd prefer the V10 over the 7.3. Especially with the premium they want. Certainly not worth $32k. At least not to me. - They will have no problem selling that Excursion. What a jewel.

Mine does a tad better with 323 RWHP and 630 on the dyno. Far as I'm concerned a 7.3 represents a non emissions engine and thats not all bad. That fact alone makes them worth good jack.
Like it or not, Tier 4 has ruined the diesel engine for a lot of reasons.
My '97 just rolled 98K miles. btw.
