I`m towing a 9200lb loaded TT that is 11.5ft tall with an 02 Excursion with the V-10 and 4.30 gears. I`m right at 18k lbs GCVW No.t sure if the 05 SD V-10 got the 5 speed trans?
Don't be afraid to let the V-10 rev! Mine routinely sees 4k rpm in the mountains. Check into a tuner from 5star tuning. It will really wake up that V-10/auto trans in the SD.
You`ll definitely want an auto slider hitch so you don't have to worry about 5`er to cab contact!
