My 2005 was a great truck also. I never had an over heat problem, even pulling 12k fiver through the hills of Northern Ontario in 35* C temps....the cooling fan is sure loud though.
Most known problems have already been mentioned, i.e. head gaskets and pump rub. There was also a fix for the injector harness rub that caused the #5 injector to quit working, but this should have occurred on this truck already and be fixed.
I had to replace the fuel cooler lines and a brake line on mine due to rust (gotta love Central Ontario road salt!!)
I would have kept the truck but bigger 5er mandates bigger truck. If the price is right and it suits your needs buy it and drive it like you stole it....it can take it.
