2007 pioneer spirit ck 18???

looking to buy a 07 pioneer spirit ck18 22 foot. the owner never towed it and is not sure if it has electric brakes or not.
does anyone have this model that might know or is there a way that i can tell him to look at something to know if it has the electric brakes? I am 160 miles from it and would like to be sure that it does have the brakes before going any further with it.
thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Thanks for the help, will ask him about the 7 pin connection.

    thanks again
The 7 pin is standard. You will need a brake controler on your vehicle in order for the brakes to work. You will also need a 7 pin socket for the plug to plug into. You can have these items installed if you don't have them.

Yes, it'll have electric brakes. It might not be a bad idea to immediately take it to a shop, and have the brakes, bearings and tires checked before towing it any appreciable distance. Though it can get a little cramped, I still enjoy ours.

Man does that look like our old rig.
We had a Pioneer 18 and I towed it with a silver F-150. and I carried two kayaks and a canoe on the roof.

We now have the Pioneer 25 and I am still towing it with the Ford.
We are camping in Florida with the canoe, and it still looks like your rig.

    We love our Pioneer

  • Yes, it has to have brakes which is not to say they work. You will need to have them checked but brakes are standard equipment and I'm guessing you will find them to be just fine. We had a 2008 PS 18CK and loved it. Great trailer, good floor plan with lots of storage. Quality was above average and we never, in three years (and about 15,000 miles), had any problem with it. Just traded it in a couple of months ago on a nice 25' Class C but we will always have fond memories of that trailer. :C
