  • As you can see from my signature I have a 2005 (bought new in 2006). First trip was a month long to do reconstruction work after Katrina. Then 2 1/2 months to Alaska, 2 months to west coast and up to Calgary Stampede, 2 months to the south west and a lot of short trips in between some with grand kids. About 35K plus miles. Very happy with it and only usual maintenance. Ron
  • Thanks, gonna look at it tomorrow.

Seems to be a good deal if it's solid. Been hanging around here lately learning what to look for in a used unit.
  • I've had a 865 SE for a few years now. I didn't like the seating as you needed legs about 6 feet long to be comforable so I put in a Flexteel folding sofa and bench on the floor to put your feet on and mount the table on. I have 2 tables one small one for when I have company and a larger one for when I want more room on the table.

The SE series is the value priced model where the other 865s come with the folding sofa standard.

They are an Orphan company but would be out of warranty now anyway. Some will tell you different but I find construction comparable with many others out there. Appliances are the same no matter what you buy.
  • I have had a 2007 Sunlite for a couple years now. Not sure of the model number but it is an 8' pop up designed for a short box.

I do some pretty harsh off-roading with it and it is holding up very well.
  • My very first truck camper was a 2005 Sunlite 800SE that I bought new from a dealer. I had it for seven years before trading it off two years ago for a different truck camper. During the time that I had it I would spend a lot of time on the weekends with it towing a boat to the area lakes to go fishing. Once in a while the wife and I would take it for a week or more on vacation. I never had any problems with it as she held up very well over the years. It definitely wasn't a high end expensive truck camper in those days but it was a fun little rig to start out with if you couldn't afford a more expensive setup. If the '07 Sunlite 865SE you're looking at doesn't have any water damage from the front or the rear then the $4500 asking price seems reasonable enough.
