Why would you intentionally buy a shortbed for this? It’ll work, but why not get the longbed?
As for capability, I use a one ton dually to haul an 11.5 footer and tow a 10,000 trailer. None of my tires are overloaded, I’ve scaled it several times.
The truck will do the job just fine.
