I owned the 2008 F450 KR dually, and except for the low gas mileage, never had any problems with it. I now have a 2011 F350 KR dually, and believe that my 2008 was more comfortable to sit in and to drive. I agree with what George H said about not getting a Job 1 if at all possible, and while you're at it I'd check with a Ford dealer to make sure all of the customer satisfaction programs, recalls, re-flashes, etc. if any were applicable, were made. I'd also steer away from a 4.88 rear end unless you own your own oil company or do not mind the even lower mpg.
