If you're wanting to pull a fifth wheel and want to stay within your ratings- avoid the MegaCab? Their payload capacities are ridiculously low.
I disagree.
It's a 3500 he's talking about. I pull a 36.5' 5er with mine, and I am under all of my ratings (axles, GVWR & payload) when hitched up. My truck's payload as per the yellow "Tire & loading information" sticker is just under 2800#.

It appears the GVWR doesn't much matter between a QC and a MC for SRW trucks. But if you look at a DRW MC they will have a 1700 lb loss in GVWR vs a QC DRW.
Is that link someone provided the truck your looking at OP? Montana location, if so look good at the bottom side for rust. Lots of salt on the roads up here in the winter.
Sorry, I didn't mean to say it couldn't be done (same with 3/4-ton and 1/2-ton trucks, there are fivers that they can carry and stay within all ratings). And, 45Ricochet is right- my statement was more about the DRW trucks (I didn't look at what the OP was looking at). The difference between the MegaCab and the CrewCab is pretty astounding up through 2012; 2013 and 2014 have brought them in line.
