Well finally going to fix the offending piece and it is gone.
Not sure on the years, on our 01 Ford there's are 2 plastic with rubber bulb attached, trim pieces, they clip to the backside of cowl plastic facing windshield, in the middle was a third piece joining them. I don't know what they really do. They just set there-sorta filling gag between plastic could halves and glass, keep leaves from sliding past cowl and windshield but not water tight. As far as debris getting under the cowl trim they are full of slots so that's ineffective. Guess I need to take a picture.
Was going to glue as it was loose, now gone, but it still will whistles. I believe on ours its air rushing over hood and the joint between the 2 cowl trim pieces, hitting, I thought, the little clip between the 2 "wipers". Taping had resolved but now unsure, with the center clip missing, maybe its just rushing over the joint. It can be really loud.
Im wondering with the piece gone the 2 rubber thingies starting to flop just removing, use a pieces of foam tape between the 2 cowl halves as their is a very small gap between the overlapping halves, perfect whistle...jeessh simplest things..
