After spending most of the day truck shopping and punching in payload/tow capacity numbers in excel to see what will pull our 6444# 34foot trailer we really liked a 2013 2500 ram diesel workhorse....any thoughts? Good or bad?? 1st time behind the wheel of a truck and man that diesel made this mamma happy!!

Good truck. If you were close by I would tell ypu to buy my 42K mile Ram dually. But your not, so,Miles?Model?Price?Rear end ratio?You need to verify all updates have been done, there is no negatives, no deletes done. The truck will with proper maintenwnce run 200K miles easily

I have a 2014 Ram 2500 diesel to pull my 14k 5ver. It will be more than enough for your trailer. Although there might be some weight police around here that might say you need to step up to a 3500 due to the GVWR of all 3/4 tons maxing out at 10k(due to government regulations) even though it is able to handle much more. It has 65k miles- workhorse, extended bed, 33k is the price point. Front ratio 5500 rear 6000, 10,000 GVWR. It is a very basic truck and man its huge!!! The 1/2 tons look like toy trucks next to it!

I used to tow a similar sized TT with a Chevy 2500HD, 6.0L gas engine. The combo worked very well. The engine did have to rev pretty good in the hills (about 4,000RPM) but it was dependable and always did the job.Certainly the Ram 2500 with Cummins is more truck than you need to pull that trailer. But.....just because it is plenty of truck doesn't mean you shouldn't get it. Having an abundance of power and capacity isn't a bad thing. If the truck meets your budget it will pull your TT just and should be a very comfortable experience. I love my Ram and it pulls my 5th wheel extremely well.KJ

It's a towing beast and you'll come to appreciate the exhaust brake too.Yes, some can argue it's overkill, but it will give you the option to go bigger if you ever care to.I love my 2016 BTW.
