The 'tow rating' of the truck also assumes no other passengers or cargo. It also assumes you don't exceed any of the trucks other gross weight ratings.
Didn't know they had a 3.15 gear ratio, but I've not kept up with it all either..

It seems with the new 6 speeds. the rear gear does not mean as much any more, as one of the lower gears will turn the correct RPM, and deliver the power needed.
