It has plenty of power, and pulling up grade at 1800 and with the load it sounded like something was going to fall off. I was thinking valve adjustment. Mileage has gone down towing or not. Just didn't want dealer to chase me down a rabbit hole
Mine is a manual trans and I'm generally doing about 1000~1200 RPM's at 30. Why would you want it to do more? And what is poor mileage?
Not much you can do. Excessive clatter can mean injection pressures are out of wack and without proper equipment, it's impossible to check. I would just make sure they actually have a diesel tech or are farming it out to one. It's good to get it checked out though before damage occurs.
Don't know what to say about your ham. ;)
Are you burning a lot of DEF? I have a friend that his is and the power is not what it used to be on his 13. No codes and a fresh valve adjustment. Sounds like his could be a DEF nozzle that is leaking and is plugging up his down stream emissions.
I burned a little more than usual on the drive up from SC to WA. Usually 1 box for 1500 miles get me full again from 1/2 tank. Not burning oil, just worse mileage and sounds not healthy. Taking it to Dealer tomorrow so I assume they have a good diesel Mech up here in Doge World Spokane.
