I paid $42K for a brand new GM diesel 2500HD with 4WD, tow package, LT trim level, higher GVWR axles, and every option package except the navigation system and the leather seats. Even at this price I got the dealer to throw in the GM chrome side steps, a GM bedline, tow mirrors, and a GM aluminum diamond plate tool box.
People as a rule pay way too much for these trucks when new and it inflates the price of used trucks to a ridiculous degree. When I saw used trucks that were 3 years old and with 35-50K miles and selling for $35K I decided to buy a new truck instead.
With the 2014's about to appear on the lots the dealers should be very interested in moving new 2013 trucks off their lots.
