This is all intestesting to a point, BUT, if I had listened to all the test hype and decided to purchase the one that "won" all of it...I wouldn't have purchased the 3rd. place Dodge in 2010...Test are nice and for the loyalist of each brand, I guess if their brand "win's", it makes for a lot of interesting and sometimes, ugly, rude, hateful post..but that's life as we know it today on the internet...I would think that Ford with the most TQ and HP should "win" in the 3/4 ton/1 ton category, or Chevy may fool them all again,....Ram? I KNOW what it'll do...won't break a 0 to 60 race, but that's not what I'm into...or again, in 2013 when I purchased truck in my sig, I would have purchased another Chevy.
Test are nice for loyalist and "fan boy's"...other than that, just media information for the masses.....
:h :h :h
How do you know you would not have been happier with the first place truck? Or that the 1st place truck would have saved you a bunch of money in fuel? Or that the 1st place truck would have rode smoother?
:h:h:h
Never said that I wouldn't be any of the above:h..I owned 3 Chevy D/A's. I HAD the #1 truck that won all the shoot out's...I was happy with the Chevy's and I'm happy with the Ram...didn't know if I would be after dropping the Chevy D/A combo..BUT, I was/am happy with the Ram..
Don't know how the 1st. place truck would have saved me a bunch of money:h..comparing like vehicles and trim levels, in and around my area, the Ram was/is cheaper than the Chevy AND the Ford...but that had nothing to do with it....If I'd wanted the Chevy I went with it, I liked the LOOKS of the Ram, inside and out, better than I did the Chevy. Believe it or not, at the time, that was a BIG point in favor of the Ram...The Chevy's from 99' to 07.5, even 2010 hadn't changed that much in looks, inside or out and I alway's had the LTZ trim level.
Save me money in fuel?....heck when purchasing a 1 ton crew cab dually, towing a 5er with a GVW of 16,950#, in "MY" personal opinion, an increase in mpg would be nice, but was at the bottom of my "list" of "must have" things.... Maybe with a 1/2 ton truck, and even a 3/4 ton truck, but in "MY" case, purchasing a 1 ton crew cab, long bed, 4X4 Dually, towing heavy ....mpg isn't "at the top of the list"...having owned and driven an 05' and 07.5' Chevy Duallys in cc/lb/4X4/D/A configuration in LTZ trim, again, it's nice to get high mpg, but nothing I expect, like one would with a car...
I don't expect a 1 ton crew cab, long bed, 4X4 dually to ride TOO good, but am super impressed with how smooth this truck rides for a 1 ton crew cab dually......the wife and I love driving it.The last Chevy cc/lb dually I owned also was comfortable, but we're not talking 1/2 or 3/4 ton trucks here....
Where did I say anything about any of the above???? All I stated was, "IF", test like we're talking about, made THAT MUCH of an impression on me....I would have NEVER purchased a Ram..or for that matter, 2nd. place, ie, a Ford....BUT, the test have no input on what I purchase, that's all I was saying...except for the fact that if I ever give up on Ram, then I'll probably go back to a Chevy....even if Ford won the test..
The test have ZERO bearing on what truck "I" purchase, no matter what place it came in and some silly test...I owned the "1st place" truck for years, (ie Chevy D/A), loved it, won't say anything bad about it, just like the looks of the Ram better...the Cummins is also a great engine and coupled to the medium duty tranny (Aisin), a truck that works fine for me at this time:)
We're still buddies, right:)
