In Canada, which I think they would have the same corporate policy in the US, any Dodge, Chrysler or Ram product approved for buy back by the parent company and not the dealer, is crushed!
My brother in law is a tech who works on a number of these vehicals before the issues to buy back is granted. Basically when the vehical gets to the point where a buy back is considered it is sent to him for a 30 day repair period to correct the issues. If it cannot be resolved the local scrap yard is paid to crush the vehical and is document and attended by a rep. I personally watched a 2013 Charger RT with gremlins so to speak be crushed.
Canada has no lemon law per say but cars are bought back. Not sure what takes place in the US or if a dealer decided to buy a problematic car back on their own if it could end up at auction. Pull the vin and have the Ram dealer run it, anything reimbursed to a dealer for work done will be on file, tell you if it a lemon or not.
I am more thinking high roller or someone who had a turn for the worse, say the oil industry and reduce fleet. Think you will see a lot of these deals coming.
