I often pulled 2.5 times that weight with my 2015 3500 6.0 from 4500 to 7000 feet. I had no issues, mileage would go sub 5 pulling the passes but it would pull it. This was pulling equipment trailers and not near the wind shear that an RV would have so there is that to consider. I loved the motor, especially in the Winter here, faster to warm up, no issues with gelling. I traded on a Duramax only because my 5500 went down and I needed to pull that kind of weight daily so I got out of it. I had a 2012 6.0 with 3:73's I ran that one to 60K pulling about 10K less weight but never an issue. The 4.10 are superior to the 3.73's pulling hard, no doubt. These new HD's are excellent trucks. I log a lot of hard miles on mine (I have 10K on my 2015 Duramax that I picked it up on Labor Day weekend) and I really like it.
I keep hearing rumor that GM is finally putting the 6.2 in the HD pickups for 2017 which should be being built next July and hit the ground in Sept of 16 if they hold to what they normally do. As much as I like the 6.0 it might be worth holding off until this Spring, the word should be out for sure by then what their plans are for the new trucks in 2017. They are getting a new look and a new Duramax and so a the rumor of a new gas engine I think is highly likely. However if you chose to take advantage of the deals on year end close out pricing, you will get a great truck no doubt.
