Did I hear them correctly when they mentioned that the Silverado 6.0 gas HD won the heavy duty gas test?
If so very interesting when the competition (6.2 Ford, 6.4 Ram) seem to have the advantage on paper.
In a very unscientific test they choose the 6.0 over the 6.4 Hemi and 6.2 respectively. Having said that I'm not sure what GM is waiting for to put this 6.2 in their HD trucks.
I think they were waiting for me to buy a 2015 3500 with the 6.0, that being done I would expect the HD version of the 6.2 to be released any time now. - jimmyfredExplorer..........They said max torque comes in at ~2500 rpm , and yet to maintain 65mph they're forcing the truck to run @ 5,000 rpm . Notice they never get into specific fuel milage because it would have been achieved way down in the rpm range at 3,000 or so !
..........All this test shows is the NEED for GM to turbo charge their gas engines so they can perform at altitudes from 5,000 to 12,000 feet above mean sea level . , jf - Majja13ExplorerI did not like the new body style until I saw a few in person. I have since changed my mind and think they are good looking trucks. My biggest complaint with all the currant GM offerings is that the front end hangs well below the center line of the the wheel. I still go off on some rougher forest service roads. I have never had a lifted truck. I have been able to do this in my old 90 and currant 2000. Looking at all the new GM offerings they have such lousy approach angles you have to lift them a few inches so you do not tare the front bumpers off. And if memory serves me with the 6.2 doesn't it run best on 91 octane?

Peak torque is at 4100 not 2500. Also they said it got 3.3 or 3.4 mpg during the test. They also had to back out of the throttle several times because they were exceeding the 65 mph speed limit. - MARK_VANDERBENTExplorerThey put that new 6.2 in the Yukon right ?? My cousin has a new escalade with a 6.2 and loves it !! Anyone have a 07-09 denali Yukon with 6.2 ?? I know its all wheel drive but just curious one real mpg numbers hwy and in town ?
- nevadanickExplorerWe had a 2015 Yukon Denali with the 6.2 and it was getting a solid 18mpg everyday and as high as 20. Was fun to stick yer foot in it also. It had some quirks that we didnt care for and went back to a Mercedes suv.

You can pull that plastic air dam off if you chose. I put a Cognito leveling kit on mine (3500) and left the air dam on, it sits up a bit higher now with much better approach angle capability. I am offroad often and have not dragged it yet. - Majja13Explorer

That is good to know. I have read that if you are going to do it, use the Cognito kit, as they are the best, from what I have read.
