2015 F150 Pics

Saw this 2015 F150 Platinum 4x2 at a nearby dealership. $55k MSRP. 17/24 EPA. Tapped the sheet metal on some 2014's and this 2015. Noticed the tone was distinctly lower on the 2015--sounded more solid, like it had more mass to it. Woulda checked out the door jam payload sticker, but the dealership was closed today.

They still sell basic models like I bought 45 years ago.

2015 Regular cab, 8' bed, roll up windows, vinyl seats.

A v6 engine and 6 speed auto tranny that's way better than what I had.

Can$26K, and cheaper in the states.

It's just that we've become spoiled and want all the fancy stuff. At least I do ...:)

X2. But roll up windows? My nephew's son saw some crank windows at a car show and got all excited and said "Dad-we need to get one of these". :) He never saw a window crank before.

Think they want Can$2000 for the power windows, locks and auto lights and other stuff. Your son has the right attitude! ;)

55K for a pickup....just doesn't sound right, does it? I bought my 00 Tundra, fully loaded 4x4 Limited, for just over 25K.

    oh well...

... and going back another 9 years - I bought a fully loaded 91 F150 for $12K and change. Looks like prices might double themselves every 10-12 years? I'd expect to pay a premium for this new F150 but it's at the same price I paid for my 2005 F350 diesel dually crew cab. The sad part is that my income is not going up at the same rate either when working or when retired.
  • We have a 2012 Ford F150 that we ordered with max tow and HD package. We were looking to upgrade our family SUV and decided that we would look at the new trucks. Couldn't afford them, so we went on to other dealerships to see what we could purchase that would seat 6. We went into a GMC/Cadillac dealer and looked at vehicles. They had a GMC Sierra 1500, platinum and it was $68,00!!! It was beautiful, but it was expensive.

We finally decided that another PU was not in our future and settled for a 2015 Honda Pilot 4WD. It was pricey, but we did get a good deal on it.
  • The bodies on new 2015 F-150s are aluminum, so magnet won't work. They are supposed to be more sturdy than the previous metal body trucks yet lighter. I am worried about dents with aluminum. They dent easier and it is harder and would be more expensive to repair is the downside.

  • Walk around the truck with a magnet and check out your findings. Make sure that the magnet is covered in some type of cloth to prevent any type of scratches. Trucks are EXPENSIVE today, as the market is drive by buyers who want everything on there PU., just like there car.
Remember when you retire, you only need three things. #1 A good truck.# 2 A good dog. #3 And a wife who is still working.

  • Beautiful.....but $55K - ouch.
And, we have always waited a year or two to let someone else discover the bugs in a complete redesign.
