Am I seeing a campaign developing for possession of the "Big Ford Drum-Rebuilt of Course" and Blue KoolAid Recipe control???...
As far as all the 6.0 complainers coming the satisfied 6.0 customers staying away, I have a BIL who bleeds blue and has a 2004 6.0 thatbhas had several thousand dollars worth of warranty repair work...he has never been to this site...
Defending the F0rde 6.0 diesel is an exercise in futility. As a prior owner, I posted many of the available solutions to try to make the engine somewhat reliable. I have never advocated buying one unless the buyer understood exactly what he was getting into...and was willing ta accept the fact that a high dollar failure was likely..
I have statedthat if you already own a Ford POS, you have only two choices. Dump it at a big loss compared to other brands or bite the bullet and try to make it more reliable. At the time I had the 6.0, I was unable to take the hit and dump it...I spent the dollars to try to make it reliable...and then, a turbo with only 25000 miles on it partially failed and spit a very small internal piece out into the intake which wiped out an intake valve...back to the shop...and then down the road...
The moral of that story is that no matter what you do to fix a 6.0, there are too many documented ways for it to fail...I bought a new 2011 6.7 Ford to replace that POS...and it was no better than the 6.0...YMMV...but those are my facts...
