nice truck and nice trailer...but I dont think a good match. Guessing you will be over your payload rating and very likely the receiver rating as well.

Summarizing prior post + posting from others with experience with toy haulers

Trailer dry weight: 7000
Minimum options & gear, no toys: 1000
Total trailer weight w/o toys: 8000

Plan for minimum 15% on tongue as toy haulers are heavy up front results in following weights on truck:
Tongue weight: 1200
Approximate hitch weight: 100

Weight on hitch: 1300 (trailer tongue weight + hitch weigh) exceeds hitch 1220 rating
Weight on rear axle from truck 50% of 5000 is 2500
Weight on rear axle from truck, trailer & hitch 2500 + 1300 = 3800

Available payload for passengers & gear 0 lbs

Excluding 5th wheels, which require even greater payload, folks on this forum have reported towing 8000 or less when asked what they were towing with the max payload version. These were not Toy Haulers which have the heavier tongue weight. I recognize you have the 2015 that has a lighter chassis which buys some payload, but the max payload on the 2011-2014 years have a higher RAWR (4800) and GVWR (8200).


What folks are towing with Max Payload 150s

If you really want this trailer then numbers point to a truck with greater capacity.

You may get more information from people towing similar rigs if you posted to the forum asking "What truck to tow a 7000# dry Toy Hauler".

I'm within #600 of my trucks GVWR and #400 of the rear axle rating towing a #5000 fully loaded TT. (actual weights, not on paper)

My sig gives the specs of my truck. My guess is that you'll be over some of those ratings a bit with your truck and that trailer.

The 2612 is a nice unit!

You'll need to really watch how you load this thing with a 1/2 ton. Lance specs the "hitch dry weight" at 845 lbs. This is typically with no factory/dealer options (batteries, propane tanks, generators, etc.), with empty black/grey/fresh water tanks, and, of course, no personal gear.

IMO, batteries (~100 lbs.), propane tanks (~100 lbs), and an OEM Onan generator (~200 lbs. located mid-way between tongue and axles), will quickly add ~300 lbs. to your tonque weight--bringing it up to ~1145 lbs. While you're on the road chances are you'll wash your hands/dishes or take a shower and transfer water from the freshwater tanks (centered over the axles) to the forward mounted black/grey tanks and potentially add another ~100 lbs. of tongue weight. Plus, you'll easily stow at least ~150 lbs. of clothes and misc. items (probably much more) in the forward located storage areas (especially in the bedroom area). At this point you could have a potential tongue weight of ~1395 lbs. Although the garage on the 2612 is located behind the trailer's axles, IMO it's not located far enough behind for heavy toys/gear to significantly reduce tongue weight.

If the payload on your truck is 1628 lbs., you're really going to have to watch things closely.

I have a toy hauler a bit smaller than the 2612 which has a factory rated "hitch dry weight" of 725 lbs. If I'm not careful loading it or watching water transfer/use, the tonque weight can easily soar over 1200-1300 lbs.--this is with 1500 lbs. of toys and gear loaded in the rear, garage area.
