I stand 6'-4" tall and that may be the single biggest thing that pushes me to the ORV Timber Ridge 240 rks.I feel like I need to duck in the Lance
^^^^This^^^^ We considered both as well.
The "Cathedral" ceiling (with ducted air) in the 240RKS is great. And in the shower, the space is noticeably better. And the shower with it's skylight open to the bedroom giving a more light and a more spacious feeling (but we need to hang towels to block the morning light when sleeping).
But the 240RKS bed is a short queen, so we pull it out every night about 4" and stuff the gap with pillows.
There's no step up to the slide-out dinette in the 240RKS. The dinette and sofa are reversed (good? bad? depends...). With the 240RKS, instead of the sofa, we opted for two recliners in the slide-out. They came with much taller side windows in the slide out which are nice.
The kitchen sink in the Lance takes up too much counter space for me.
In addition there's the 240RK's off-road frame, huge tanks, 2" walls, and the other stuff already mentioned.
In addition to the extra weight, the 240RKS is taller and not as close to the ground. You would probably get better mileage towing the Lance not just because of the weight diff.
The 240RKS is not perfect but we're very happy with it.
