In addition to Ric's sales kills, He no longer sells Fords for them.. Quite a few people bought Fords in part because of his opinion.... When it was favorable. You can probably easily double the kill figure.
Ric was easily the biggest Ford Fan ever.
We used to have many spirited debates.
I took no satisfaction when Ford did him wrong.
As I said back then, the sad truth is that any major corporation can stick it to the little guy at will. This could be a GM story, Or a Dodge story etc.
So far GM has taken the high road on the HPFPs.
That can change at any time.
I would have much preferred that Ford had taken care of Ric's issue, and we were still debating whose trucks were the best.
I now own Fords but I still thot Ric was a little off his rocker when he was a Ford Koolaide drinker and thot he maybe had it coming when it happened to him. Now he is just as much off his rocker the other way and I'm waiting for him to get himself into trouble again. Amazing what a wagging tongue can do and the way he comes on here I suspect there is lots of it.
Ford did warranty on one of my trucks AFTER the warranty was over. I didn't ask for it, they offered it and I took them up on it. I suspect it had to do with the way WE treated our dealers?
...and commentary such as this which displays the ignorance of the situation is why I occasionally need to remind my friends here at rvnet about the real facts...I also find it sad that some here hope I have another shameful event happen with my current product...
I always enjoy the ignorant comments made about how the posters position is so much more likely to end up in their favor because "they" treat their dealer so nicely...my shameful event absolutely blows that theory to bits...let me digress a bit to refresh some fading memories or bring newer members here to the truth...
If one reads the "Drum" episode thread from the beginning, they will find out that my relationship with dealership #1 began on excellent terms...there were three attempts to fix the truck under auspice of warranty coverage. I patiently and politely waited a week as the dealership worked through the warranty repairs...it was not until this dealer had replaced two different parts in the fuel system without doing the proper diagnosis sequence did the trouble start. They were into the truck for over $1000 in parts and diagnostic time that Ford would not reimburse them for even if they warrantied the pump...Ford's position on HPFP repairs made their blunder even more problematic...
I went through 3 more days of discussion with these crooks before I decided to remove the truck from their shop and sent it to the dealership where I always had the truck serviced...this dealership totally debunked the "water in fuel" diagnosis...they went to bat for me but in the end were told it was politically impossible to now warranty the repair because of Ford Field Service Engineer internal politics...better to sacrifice one customer and not have a huge internal fight...I was told this by the second dealersip's Ford Field Service Engineer...and then he said he wished I would have sent the truck there first as he would have covered the repair...
Again I will say this...If you own a Ford and think this type of treatment can not happen to you...you are whistling past the graveyard...The posters here that think they are immune and make comments such as one's made above are naive...they bash me for my former Ford advocacy and call me the biggest Blue KoolAid drinker of all time...Ford did it to me, why do they think they are immune...they seem to think they can have it both ways...sad indeed...
