I would give up 100 lb ft of torque to get an extra 4-5 MPG. As long as it will pull the trailer anything extra is wasted and becomes a matter of bragging rights for boys with their toys. I am paying $4 a gallon for diesel and it will probably be at $10 a gallon before my current truck reaches 200,000 miles.
