On my 2015 ram 3500 when I hit the horn there is a very short delay before sound. Any others experience that

Same here on my new 2017. The delay is significantly longer than my previous 01 Ram which was instantaneous. I have assumed it is due to the complete electronic nature of the vehicle. It is long enough that it almost seems useless in an emergency situation as by the time it honks the issues is already over or to late to stop it. I guess that may be over dramatizing it but it is well longer than I would like.My air horns that were on my previous truck will be going on in short order and will not be going through the oem horn circuit.

If the horn is on the body bus, the response should still be instant. Any delay is being introduced by FCA via software.I'll have to see what my 17 2500 does.There's an FCA tech center engineer on these forums, maybe they can shed light on the reason behind the delay.

Got to love these new computer controlled vehicles.

The delay doesn't bother me. The fact I cant give a little toot, toot what's up chick bothers me. I toot mine and it honks for 2-3 minutes. No more toot,toot

Normal and I hate it. The "friendly" little beep to get the driver ahead of me to pull their head out of their Iphone turns into an all out audible assault. It's probably going to get me shot.

only thing I have noticed is with the air bag it seems to take a lot more pressure to get the horn to honk. I don't think there is any delay just more pressure is needed to get the horn contacts to touch.

Also have not noticed any delay with the volume controls either on the steering wheel or the radio itself.
