brulaz,
You should try towing with a 98 12V for a while. My wife and I are thrilled at how we can actually carry on a conversation at ANY time in our 15 LongHorn dually towing a combined 33K.
I do suspect that the top-of-the-line, "Cadillac" versions of the RAM 2500 (that we were unwilling to pay for), might provide a quieter ride when working hard. Sound insulation and vibration control technology is pretty good these days, you just have to be willing to pay for it.
And I wonder what Ford and GM bring to the table in terms of cabin quiet when working hard. Unfortunately it can't be evaluated with unloaded test runs.
It's just something that I never heard brought up in comparisons of the big diesels. And it might be important to some folks.

At below 1100rpm in 2nd the trailer brakes along with the truck brakes should be working well enough as to not be an issue.
Agreed, but then when I speed up, I have to get going uncomfortably fast before the EB comes back on. Or maybe I have to upshift to 3rd and then back down to 2nd. Will try that the next time anyway.
