Running 70+psi in The front tires without additional weigh that require it is crazy IMO. Unless you just take out your false teeth so they don't rattle out!
Btw, not hard to get high miles out of bfg rugged terrains. They gotta be the hardest compound worst wet/snow/sand/anything but dry pavement tires ive ever run.
Perfect for pounding pavement cross country with heavy loads.....in good weather.
You may want to look at your actual front tire weights and compare to the weight/inflation chart. Then add 5psi for the fact the tires will have edge wear. Done this for hundreds of thousands of miles with great results and no MISSING TEETH!
For the heck of it, I looked up a couple and for similar tires as OE HD srw pickups, 45-60psi is the sweet spot with around 5klbs front tire cap at 45 psi and 6klbs at 60. Guess my 45-55psi winter-summer pressures are about right.
I don't believe you'll harm anything with higher pressure unless you start wearing the centers out of some wide tires, just that there's no need for that high or pressure in today's 285ish size stock tires. You're correct though if talking smaller 235-245 size LT tires and diesel truck weights.
