2016 2500 CTD Big Horn owner here and my experience if very similar to yours so far with about 2500 miles on the clock. Love the truck so far.
One thing I've found about mpg is you can get decent mileage cruising on the flat lands but put your foot into it in the hills and mountains and all bets are off!
