:h
I do hope you are ordering the cab/chassis model.
I compared a brand new 2016 F-450 at a local dealership in my hometown against my current Ram, side by side.
This was NOT the cab/chassis model, but the factory pickup box version.
GVWR was 14,000 pounds.
Mind you, there were two numbers found on this F-450 that concerned me greatly.
First, this F-450 had both the camper package AND the snow plow package installed. So I expected good numbers when it came to truck camper applications.
And I was extremely disappointed in what I found.
Even with the snow plow package, the glove box paper DID recommend the F-450 for truck camper use. Seen many postings where this was not the case, as I guess Ford didn't want folks snow plowing with the camper on board.
However, the recommended truck camper max weight was in the 4,000 pound range.
My Ram (3500) glove box recommended weight max was 4,600 pounds.
So that was a bummer, and if you're planning on hauling that AF 1150, well I'd make other plans if it is NOT the cab/chassis version with an aftermarket box or flat bed or whatever.
Second bad number was total payload shown on drivers door for passengers/cargo. Memory says it was 4,900 some odd pounds.
Again, lower than my Ram at 5,300 some odd pounds.
Oh, and one more bad number. Almost forgot it! :S
Rear axle on this F-450 was only rated at 9,000 pounds. Again, lower than my Ram at 9,750.
So in conclusion, I'd surely hope you're getting the cab/chassis version. It'd be a fine truck, as appears it would be a much better load carrier for truck camper purposes than the factory pickup model Ford also sells.
