Eighteen model years is certainly long enough, and I cannot remember any truck go that long with the same cab and basic design.
My F250 is almost 13 years old, and is low mileage @ 124K. I had the pickup box dents (from utility trailer) and scratches fixed and repainted last week. Hopefully it'll go another 13 years with the 7.3 motor.
Owning a diesel for the long run is where the value comes in.
