I dont own a F350. Plan on buying one soon to replace my gas F250 so we can haul a good sized 5th wheeler. Am on the fence between a F350 6.7 4x4 LB CC single or dual wheel set up.
Before getting a 5th wheel I never hauled anything other than 15 foot fishing boat and occasional hay wagon.
I retired bought an 09 F350 DRW 4x4 6.4 and a 14,900 gvw 5th wheel within the first 500 miles I knew the DRWs were the right choice.
We have upgraded with rig in sig and I am pleased with the setup. I believe Ford has a newer transmission than the '17' had. For me the 4:10 rearend makes this combo a pleasure to drive at 27,600 GCVW.
I doubt that you would need 4:10s but we do the mountains and have pulled 10% grades with no problems.
