What wasn't expected and is very concerning is RAM played down these results "As they know better" and performed very poorly. The body structure received a "Poor" rating that's completely unacceptable with today's products. Shame on ram...
We're likely to not hear a lot from the other crowds. If this was about a problem with Ford we'd be on page 12 by now. shepstone wrote:

Interesting results...I wonder how many people will now choose the aluminum cage vs. steel before they release the bear.
I'd be running for the closest one regardless of which metal its made of!

I know if it was a shark cage I would choose aluminum. :W- The F150 is what good engineering is all about.... and it was expected Ford would perform the updates to the extended cap trucks in MY '16 and not disrupt other crash test attributes. Good on Ford...

Not the safest as this test shows.
However it looks to me like the poor guy in the FCA would sure have a sore foot in this test. :S - patriotgruntExplorerInteresting results...I wonder how many people will now choose the aluminum cage vs. steel before they release the bear.

I agree completely.
Here is a quote from the link: "Ford said it didn’t have enough time to outfit the SuperCab for last year’s tests, but since then has added wheelblockers, nylon hinge pillar reinforcements and rocker cab reinforcements that help in this particular crash scenario." That is really hard to believe that, in their own words, they "didn't have enough time" to do the right thing on certain cab styles last year. Certainly the other manufacturers are behind Ford in this type of crash scenario, and I am sure they will all make changes in their next redesigns. But, it still bothers me that Ford chose to add blockers to one cab configuration last year but not to the other style. Either way, it is fixed now, so that is good. - transferredExplorerThis is good to hear. When Ford dangerously de-contented the non-crew cab F150s last MY some idiots defended them. Glad that Ford have come to their senses and done the right thing. We run mostly 1-tons at my company but we order a few 1/2 tons every four years so they stay in warranty. The F150 regular cab long bed is back in the running now (top of my list in the segment, in fact) I'm pleased to say as it was otherwise a very nice little truck.
