2016 Keystone Passport Slide

Hello,

First time posting, however, I am excited to be a part of this community now. I have a 2016 Keystone Passport 2810 BH. I have used it a few times so far and it has been great.

I took it out a few weeks ago and when I put the slide out, my wife said the carpet by the sofa was wet. It rained the previous week so I am wondering if I didn't put the slide all the way in.

When I bring the slide in, I usually push the button down until the motor starts to strain. Should I keep pushing it until the motor stops completely to ensure it is all the way closed and against the seals? Should I worry about any long term damage from the wet carpet?

This is our first RV so I just wanted to make sure. Thank you all for your help.
  • Hi.

I also have a 2015 passport 2920bh that had a major leak onto the carpet. I sucked out nearly 3 gallons of water after a heavy rain storm over the last summer.

What I found was the rubber seal they glue to cover the slide cable hole was pealing/tearing off from the slide cable bracket smashing it. I glued it back on and sealed it really well. No more leaks, however the cable bracket continued smashing the seal. This seal was on the right side on the bottom cable. I believed the slide was not adjusted properly as this was only seal being damaged.

Camper is at dealer now because of this issue and they are telling me it is adjusted correctly.

    Check your cable seals.
  • I got the trailer back last week, they said one of the seals was short and that is what was causing the leak. Looks like they replaced all of the seals. I do notice, however, that the slide makes almost a grinding sound when I put it out, but is nice and smooth when I bring it in. My warranty is up in July, I am going to use it the next couple months and hope I don't have any more issues. I really love the trailer and want to enjoy it instead of worry about the slide having more issues.
