Hello,First time posting, however, I am excited to be a part of this community now. I have a 2016 Keystone Passport 2810 BH. I have used it a few times so far and it has been great.I took it out a few weeks ago and when I put the slide out, my wife said the carpet by the sofa was wet. It rained the previous week so I am wondering if I didn't put the slide all the way in.When I bring the slide in, I usually push the button down until the motor starts to strain. Should I keep pushing it until the motor stops completely to ensure it is all the way closed and against the seals? Should I worry about any long term damage from the wet carpet?This is our first RV so I just wanted to make sure. Thank you all for your help.

Take a look on the outside of the slide. Does it have cables? If it does you are probably doing it correctly. It is always easy to check by looking at the slide on the outside and seeing if it appears to be completely sealed when closed.If yours has no cables you may need to hold the button until you hear the motor ratchet when fully retracted. Of course this is only guesswork. You really need to call your dealer and ask the proper procedure for closing. If you were doing it correctly, take it in and have them see what is causing the problem.

Thank you for your reply. It does have cables. It seems like the right side of the slide seals completely up against the seals and the left side isn't as tight but appears to be touching the seals. If I keep pushing the button down, the left side will get even tighter.

I have the Cougar which is also a Keystone product. One of the slides is the cable style like yours. I was told to retract until the motor strains and the lights dim. Very unscientific but it works. Did you bring the slide in while wet? If so that could be the source of the water. Since yours is a '16 I'm assuming it is still under warranty. If you can't determine the source yourself, get it back to the dealer and get it documented while under warranty since it might take a couple times in to figure it out.

I didn't bring it in wet. We left for our trip a week and a half after the rain storm and when we got to the camp site my wife noticed the carpet was wet. Luckily, it didn't smell like mill dew.Could there be any damage to the floor you think?I agree, I will most likely take it into the dealer.

With my passport, that has the cables as well, I usually bring the slide all the way in, essentially until the motor stops. Basically once in, I usually give it a couple extra clicks. You can tell its all the way in because the motor pretty much doesn't turn anymore and the slide doesn't jerk anymore.Maybe this isn't the proper way to do it, but from listening and seeing the action I don't feel like the motor is really "straining" or anything, just that its reached the end of travel.What I would do is make sure the carpet is dry and pull the slide in until you feel that it is all the way in. At that point you could wait for the weather or hose it down. I would also check prior to this that all the seals and "flaps" are facing the way they should be and or are not damaged.It is my opinion that when you said "seems like the right side of the slide seals completely up against the seals and the left side isn't as tight but appears to be touching the seals. If I keep pushing the button down, the left side will get even tighter.", that you are not pulling it all the way in.Either that, or it is slightly out of adjustment on that side or your on unlevel ground contributing to the alignment issue. Hi.

I also have a 2015 passport 2920bh that had a major leak onto the carpet. I sucked out nearly 3 gallons of water after a heavy rain storm over the last summer.

What I found was the rubber seal they glue to cover the slide cable hole was pealing/tearing off from the slide cable bracket smashing it. I glued it back on and sealed it really well. No more leaks, however the cable bracket continued smashing the seal. This seal was on the right side on the bottom cable. I believed the slide was not adjusted properly as this was only seal being damaged.

Camper is at dealer now because of this issue and they are telling me it is adjusted correctly.

Check your cable seals.

I got the trailer back last week, they said one of the seals was short and that is what was causing the leak. Looks like they replaced all of the seals. I do notice, however, that the slide makes almost a grinding sound when I put it out, but is nice and smooth when I bring it in. My warranty is up in July, I am going to use it the next couple months and hope I don't have any more issues. I really love the trailer and want to enjoy it instead of worry about the slide having more issues.
