We are on our second short bed dodge.
Our first one was a 2012 Dodge 2500 Mega Cab We purchased the slider hitch but never used it in the 2 years of using that truck with our 40' long 5er, but she has the rounded corners up front.
We are now in a 3500 dodge crew cab. It's nice having the shorter truck but the bed is still the same length.
We still have the same slider in it and we have never worried about hitting the back window.
Have done u-turns and tight backing in and never an issue.
Granted it's nice to have incase the need ever arises but just watch your surroundings and practice and won't have an issue.
