Fill until full. Can't screw it up.

Go to the proper fill level, over filling can cause oil to seep past the seals and ruin rear brakes. Rule of finger was fill until you can just touch the oil with your finger bent down in the hole.

AMZ/OIL 75-90 Severe Gear 4 quarts. Use their soft fill container and its full when it pours out!!!

You will thank me, the OE lube is JUNK!

That's exactly what I'm using based on your advice a few months ago. Finally getting around to doing it.

Yes, but see my original comment. The specification is plus or minus 1/4" inch from the fill line on the diff cover. You can fill 1/4" below the line or 1/4" above the line as I understand it.

The bottom of the fill hole is exactly 1/4" above the fill line. So it would seem to me if you filled to the bottom of the hole, you would be within spec.

One guy on Youtube made an L-shaped tool whith a 1/4" bend in it to hook into the hole and get exactly to the fill line. Not sure if that's necessary.

We have done three Rams in the past year , friends ,mine, and my sons. Front ,and rear. We filled until its to the top of the fill hole. I messed with my rear differential with that fill line for a minute ,then just filled to the top of the hole.

Filling to the top of the fill hole has been the accepted method as long as I can remember, and always the way I have done it . Not sure why the bother with that fill line, not sure the front has a fill line, if so it got ignored also :)

IMO its not necessary , as said in my previous post , I too got caught up with messing with it for about a minute before I realized it didn't make much sense . I too saw that L-shaped hook device, that was my one minute attempt .
