I sure they are out there. It does help perhaps that I have a personal relationship with this dealer.
Penciled calculated 16 mpg (imperial) towing 34 foot Cedar Creek at 60 mph on flat land.
So, 16 imperial mpg is 12.8 US mpg, so about a 2 mpg at the most improvement.
25 imp empty is 20 US. What's the big deal there, that is about a stocker will do on the highway.
I get about 12 (give or take) towing my 32 foot, 9500 lbs travel trailer on flat I95 to Florida every year, usually have cruise set at about 67-68 mph. With a tailwind I've gotten as good as 13.5 one year. With a headwind it dropped to a little under 10.
I can get 22 on a flat highway at 75 mph.
Those are stock numbers, hand calculated. I'm not necessarily opposed to those that want to delete, but I don't understand the idea that you need to delete a new truck because the emissions system MIGHT give you a problem. Emissions are warranted for an extended time/mileage, so if they do fail its covered. If you have an emissions issue AFTER warranty and decide to spend $1000 deleting instead of $3000 replacing emissions parts, that makes sense to me. Simply dropping a grand because you might have a problem eventually doesn't make sense to me.
For those that chose to delete, they need to educate themselves about the benefits and risks. That is on each individual consumer to do their due diligence.
