Fair enough if you are modding for improved mileage. OP's mileage after deletes is equal to my truck with factory emissions though. What year is your truck Shiner?
I average about 16 to 17 with my driving in a stock 2015 2500. Non-towing driving for me is mostly around town, stoplights and hills. Occasionally I will get on I70 and head west for 60 or 70 miles at a time. I'm very pleased that my 8600 lbs, 370 hp, 800 lbs/ft torque truck can attain that mileage with emissions so I don't have to worry if my state introduces emissions inspections on trucks.
