'American Made' an empty moniker these days, for everything. Vehicles, appliances, you name it. Exhibit A: our recently purchased Made in Mexico of Chinese parts, GE Appliances dryer owned since 2016 by Haier, China's largest appliance manufacturer.
I'm just grateful if any big ticket stuff I buy works for longer than the warranty period......
