I still remember buying my first new turbo diesel back in the fall of 1992. It was a GMC 6.5 Turbo Diesel. In spite of it being a dud I was thrilled to own that truck for many years. My son-in-law drives it now after he installed a new Peninsular Diesel. Anyway back when those early turbo diesels debuted they were described by the automotive journalists as having gobs of torque....400 lbft!!
