So here is the F450 rear spring pack. Two 5/8" thick springs in the main pack and a 13/16" lower overload. Also has a single 3/8" thick upper overload
And here is the 2016 3500 DRW HD rear springs. Three slightly under 1/2" thick main leaf pack, with 11/16" thick lower overload, and also two 3/16" thick sandwiched upper overload pack.
The difference is pretty obvious even without the tape measure when you actually park them side by side.
Also notice the leafs on my F450 are not touching yet, even with 2800lbs in the bed today. ( 400lb Canopy/rack, 700lb bedslide/shelf system, 1700lbs of tools)
The ram 3 leaf pack is compressed with an empty truck. Not saying this is bad, just hoping to educate those that claim the F450 has smaller/weaker springs.
Perhaps the perception you Ram boys get of butt low F450's has to do with their starting stance? They sit lower in the rear empty than the Ram's and even the F350 DRW. It looks like the rear block is smaller on the F450, maybe to ease hooking up to 5th wheel/gooseneck trailers which is what it is geared towards.
