Not much difference between a 1978 and an '85. Trucks didn't really start to improve in terms of power until fuel injection became the norm in the late '80-early '90s. I use to have an 84 C20 with the 305 4 barrel. What a gutless gas-guzzling turd. My V6 Ford Explorer would pull a 4000 lb flatbed faster up a hill.
