- jus2shyExplorerLooks like their Virtual Gauge setup is finally competitive with RAM. GM seems to be the lagger now in this group. Also dig the TPMS system in the trailers. The only thing I always worry about is having "Too" much tech in a vehicle. So I avoid getting some of the bells and whistles since that stuff tends to be pricey to fix.

Very weak Puck system placement/attachment still as B&W will only rate their hitch to 20K, same exact head on a RAM hitch is rated at 25K.
Weak puck system? One company has a hitch that is rated at 27.5K for the pucks, another 24K. Looks to me like the weak one is the company that can only design a hitch that is rated for 20K. - The F350 SRW also has a new rear end too...

Troy I really don't care what the "capacity" is so please tell me what the RAWR on the 350 and 450 Dually's are.
Same ol bolt on fenders sort of a combo of the last two styles.
Is there actually an engine under all that plastic and tubing???

I actually think it's a good looking truck and with a Gas engine it's one I would consider for sure!
F450 RAWR is 9900 lbs. From what I understand the F350 and F450 use a similar rear end now.
I actually prefer the Ford fenders over a ram for two simple reasons: Access to the bed on the Ford is better over the swooping ram fenders that block access. And simplistic repair. I can replace a ford fender without the truck even entering a paint both.
There's actually a very big engine under that hood.
After owning a 6.7 Powerstroke for 4 years I would take it over any gas engine offering.
Also the long wheel base trucks have a 48 gallon diesel tank

Exactly. And I do not like some of Fords actions they did on the road to their own diesel motor. JMHO.
maybe we all should just like what we buy and enjoy the ride and not care what others like. My thinking for years but I am old.

Towing just gets easier... 440HP/925ft.lbs. that F450 is a towing jewel.
Enjoy...

Good to see they are catching up to the competition.
Or more like the competition after many updates, upgrades, enhancements have finally caught up to the Super Duty so the bar had to be raised. :W
Nice try, but simply not the case. After 2 miserable attempts at Diesel engines they finally may have a good (but extremely complex) one on their hands. I really do like the new design though and believe they will do very well!
LOL...And first 6.7 cummins aka Blue Tec didn't have problems... :Rspoon059 wrote:
Wow, pretty impressive numbers from Ford. Again, the HP and torque wars don't really do much for me though. I agree with a lot of other posters, longevity of emissions products, increased reliability and less expensive overall cost of ownership and fuel mileage are more important to me.
For those people that need a bigger number to make themselves feel better or somehow more adequate, this is a great truck. Don't forget a lift kit and dual stacks to increase the appearance of your package though...
Funny thing Ford only added 75ft. lbs and we get this feedback. All brands of trucks get lifted and only one brand gets that plus the rear view mirror flipped up treatment. :R
And this is coming from a guy who keeps his trucks ~2 years and trades it in for a new one. On the other hand my dpf equipped truck is 4 years old with 97k miles a not a single repair or safety recall on the entire truck during this period but I did have 1 emissions related recall. I have no reason to believe my truck will go another 100k miles with no drivetrain repairs required and still maintain 400HP/800ft.lbs :B.
Like I said earlier... Towing just got easier! :W
