Just spoke to B&W my side to side mimi shock absorber that has a small leak. They are sending me out a new one today.
I asked about the 20K Puck system rating on the Ford and GM's. They said they test to the weakest component as in puck attachment and base footprint. RAM has the strongest frame/puck attachment and largest base so they were able to give it a 25K rating. They could not give the other two more than 20K as their stringent testing and high standards would not allow it.
Come on Ron, if the chinese can build a hitch with higher ratings based on the trucks they had shipped over there for their testing wouldn't you think a honest American company could push their numbers higher?:W :W :W
I do wonder if there is a fine print disclaimer on these numbers that applies to the hitch ONLY?
I think I will go buy a craftsman Shop vac today, I hear they "DEVELOPE" 6HP. :B - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Thanks for confirming they are not able to build a higher rated capacity hitch like other manufactures are.
I guess you did not read what I wrote. It has nothing to do with hitch strength. They test the whole system and their tests show an inferior puck system compared to RAM.
But hey if you really want to trust a number on a Chinese Made hitch go for it. - Me_AgainExplorer IIIWhat a kick, Pillsbury Doughboy riding shotgun, driver says all the bells and whistles are a distraction, but some might like them and talks about the Cummins I-6 and how it pulls better and better as you load it heavier and heavier.
F450 with only 4750 load capacity????
Guess Ford did not pay for this video. Props for Troy for posting it.
Chris - Here's Mr. Trucks video towing 30k lbs. I'll take the White King Ranch Jewel. These trucks continue to impress.
Towing 30k lbs - Me_AgainExplorer IIIGrill and tailgate are ugly! Almost make the Laramie Limited ones look good. Chris
- ShinerBockExplorerI never liked the King Ranch trim. Ugly as all get out just like the Laramie Longhorn. Both just scream "I am a wanna be Coka-Cola Cowboy and have never spent one day on a ranch".
I have spent a few days at the King Ranch. Never saw one "King Ranch" packaged truck. Most were bare bone XL's 4wd's like the white trucks you see in the background of those videos. - Here's some Ford King Ranch video's.
King Ranch 1
King Ranch 2
King Ranch 3
Ford King Ranch... Often imitated...But Never Duplicated. - Me_AgainExplorer III

I would never want to own one or ever want to tow something that requires a truck like that, but it is a nice truck for the .01% that do.
- I'm not a fan of long wheel base trucks for my use but that 48 gallon tank sure would be nice on long hauls.
